Bacchus At The French Market
Every year in the Spring, as the cherry blossoms have bloomed, the Book Hill community in upper Georgetown celebrates all things French in a street fair called The French Market, and this year, oh la la, it's going to be big, Énorme – a 3-day event. If you haven't attended before, it's quite lovely – you can browse through antique finds, furniture, home goods, clothes, hair care and cosmetic products and food (crepes and croissants anyone?) and shop at great discounts and we, at Bacchus, are … [Read more...]
Announcing a New Bacchus Pairing
A week ago we got a chance to meet a local author of Unfazeable blog on which she writes reviews and analyses of books written by independent writers. We love reading and being in a wine business we supply many book clubs with the essentials (ahem vino), so it was no surprise that when Unfazeable came to us to ask for our insight about wines to pair with her book reviews, we got extremely excited and jumped on board! Whether it's a big and bold left-bank Bordeaux to go along with a mystery or … [Read more...]

And, not to hammer home complete and utter lack of sobriety, the alcohol level in Armagnac is surprisingly high for such a … [Read more...]

Here Come The Neighbors…
In its first posting, our wee little blog highlighted the cast of characters sipping in Bacchus on a daily basis. For your viewing pleasure, here are some of the people that neglect responsibility for a good cause: First we have our next door neighbor, Terry Bell, managing partner of Salon ILO (not day spa, thank you) holding dinner for the family. The 6L of Malbec will feed him while the fam will enjoy beans, rice and snickers. He's generous. Terry Bell Next we have Bacchus resident … [Read more...]
